Labdoo Laptops for Endulen e.V.’s scholars, Endulen Hospital, Kipatimu Hospital and Olpiro Dispensary
In cooperation with Labdoo e.V., Endulen e.V. was able to bring a total of 9 laptops to Tanzania, which are used by our scholarship holders for their studies as well as in Endulen Hospital, St. Martins Hospital in Kipatimu and in Olpiro Dispensary.
“What was that again? – Hold on, let me check the latest recommendations online”. It’s like this, or something like this, in the medical profession every day. Due to continuous research and development, recommendations for therapy and diagnostics are constantly changing. To stay up to date, but also as a possibility to watch video instructions for procedures and the like, a laptop is worth its weight in gold. The organisation Labdoo e.V. has therefore made it its business to collect laptops that are no longer in use and to provide them with open source programs so that they are ready for use worldwide and as little susceptible to malfunction as possible. Through Anna-Maria Salaja, one of our board members, the contact to Labdoo e.V. was established and a short time later we were happy to receive laptop donations for our projects. In order that the environment does not suffer from the distribution, the laptops are always transported by so-called flight sponsors. This means that people who are on the road for a certain reason anyway, simply pack another laptop from Labdoo e.V. in their luggage and off they go.
During project trips of our Endulen members 9 laptops have already found their new owners in Tanzania: 4 were distributed to the employees of Endulen Hospital (1), the St. Martin’s Hospital in Kipatimu (2) and the Olpiro Dispensary (1), who now have the possibility to do research easier and to electronically record medical data on patient numbers and similar. In addition, our scholarship holders Dr. Nestory, Alex P. James, Sostanius Margwe, Jens Luziga und Dr. Wistone Ngaiza each received a laptop. They were all pleased about the great enrichment and relief that such a laptop represents for writing homework and accessing e-books as part of their studies.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Labdoo e.V. very much for the great cooperation and support of our projects!
Do you also have an unused laptop at home? Then have a look at the homepage of Labdoo e.V. (www.labdoo.org) and inform yourself about possibilities of donations.
