Renewed supply of drugs and repair of laboratory equipment – Endulen Hospital
In March 2020 Endulen e.V. made a new emergency delivery of vital medication to Endulen Hospital possible by providing 4,200 Euros. In addition, 680 Euros were donated to cover the costs of repairing 2 machines in the laboratory and replenishing reagents.
Endulen Hospital is currently facing many difficulties. The hospital is located in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA). The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the greatest natural wonders in the world, visited by more than half a million tourists every year. Through the income from tourism, basic services such as water, electricity, education and health care are normally financed by the NCA. Due to the lack of income from tourism, funds for the Endulen Hospital are also missing. Even if the hospital has its own income, it is not enough to cover all running costs.
In March 2020 Endulen e.V. was able to arrange a delivery of necessary medication worth 4.200 Euro, while a member of Endulen e.V. (Dr. med Florian Schneider) was on site. For this delivery, mainly antibiotics and important medication for obstetrics were purchased.
In addition, association member Felix Fuchs handed over a donation of 570 euros in March 2020. This was used to support the laboratory at Endulen Hospital. From this donation the biochemistry machine and the haematology machine could be repaired and important reagents could be bought. The total value of the project was 680 Euro. The missing money was paid for with donations by a quick decision of the managing committee.
We thank all donors for their loyal support. Asante sana!
